Please, tell me why everyone thinks chili shouldn't have beans in it... And why chili with beans is Yankee chili. Where did this come from?

Because it ain't chili anymore. It's now called soup.

Neither of the 2 pronghorns I've killed were strongly sage flavored, they were as good as whitetail.

None of the chili contests I have ever cooked in allow beans. Beans is a separate contest!

Have you looked at the contest rules? Most do not allow beans. May want to check first just to be on the safe side.

And most don't allow anything but meat and sauce, no tiny pieces of pepper, onion or anything else.... it all has to be cooked out completely...
