                None of the chili contests I have ever cooked in allow beans. Beans is a separate contest!

                  Have you looked at the contest rules? Most do not allow beans. May want to check first just to be on the safe side.

                    And most don't allow anything but meat and sauce, no tiny pieces of pepper, onion or anything else.... it all has to be cooked out completely...

                            Believe it or not, a small amount of cinnamon. I did not believe it until I tried it. Makes a good pot of chili great.
