Could have been a bad pad (too old, dried out because factory package wanst sealed good, etc.). Stick a new pad in and try it again. Mine works great, and my dad had it for a while before I did. I thought it was broken at first and wasnt sure if I actually needed one, until I turned it off to get down. Then it was like someone opened the gate and I got swarmed within 60 seconds.

Lol...yeah they work big time! Check to make sure the light is ignited and you're not burning one of the attractant pads. I've used mine in a half a dozen counties and even at the back porch in Port A when everyone was getting eaten by skeeters.

Mine works awesome. I turn it on and put it under my seat, wont hunt bow season without it.
