Some counties are hard to get to hunt in and the majority of the notable bucks killed in those counties are never entered into any sort of record keeping or census.
I can't speak for STX,ETX but in WTX my top five are
    #1 Irion
    #2 Sterling
    #3 Reagan
    #4 Tom Green
    #5 Sutton

What are we talking? Big bucks, or Overall deer numbers?
All the east Tx guys must be talking about overall numbers lol, I though it was about antler size.

I'll take anything in the rolling plains zone.
By choice any county including or touching Foard county.

            Just my .02

I'm talking about body size and antlers. The numbers are coming back in the drought stricken areas.

Reviving a old thread, but take a gander at www.texasbuckregistry.com.

There are over 1100 bucks currently registered, searchable by county and region.

Counties just west and south of the metroplex area have some incredible deer, as does the northern Hill Country counties. Obviously South Texas, Webb, Dimmit, Starr, etc have incredible native deer too.

Thought you guys might be interested in seeing this tool I created....

Walker, Trinity, Anderson, Rusk, and Cherokee counties suck so y'all just keep heading south and west.

How can you east Texas counties even be considered?

Because we are shooting 140-150" plus bucks every year on my leases and not paying a fortune (yet) to hunt it. But there are no deer here. Just squirrels and poachers. Go west and south.
