Sleepless night, found what we came out here to Nevada for finally. Wind was too risky to make a play. Hopefully he is there this am.

I finished loading up my pack last night for a final weigh in. I’m at 40.8 lbs with camp setup, clothing, all my food for 9 days, and 3 liters of water.

Wow that's good. So about 20 pounds or so with no food and water?

              Spreadsheet

I can't remember where I found this, but someone went through the painstaking effort to create it and it's pretty handy. I hope to go on my first backpack hunt next year and this has made gear listing (and comparing products) easy as to what I may pack.

That’s awesome!!! I made something similar when I’m prepared for the ATV except I didn’t do the fancy pie charts! Really impressive. keying the weights of everything you plan on caring and then adding it up definitely will make you reconsider unnecessary heavier items . Thank you for sharing.

I agree. I'm hoping to fall in love with backpacking and one day not care what the pack weighs. I'll take what I need and that'll be that. That said, I think a chart like this will always be great to have as a checklist. I'm going to use the third page as a full gear list of all my gear, then copy and paste into the cells depending on the style of hunt.
