If peep is higher than normal range the pin gap can spread, due to distance that arrow and line of sight impact ( usually seen when people anchor arrow nock near chin)

That's why some programs like On Target use the peep height, from the arrow at full draw, as one of the inputs for a tape calculation.

That is the spot hogg calibration scale, it's actually a reference scale, but whatever.
