Eastern Young here, I finally gave up on the weeds dying and have been running the dozer to make trails so the deer can walk around. I have not had many acorns since the fires, and the deer are hammering the protein and feeders still. We have lots of big healthy deer this year.

I am also on the Young/Throckmorton County line (just west of Padgett). Earlier in the summer, all was very green and lots of new grasses, etc. I was out there on Saturday to check feeder, camera, etc. Didn't look as brown as it normally would this time of year, but the ground definitely has not been getting as much rain as I've gotten at home in Parker and Tarrant counties. Pond near camp was way down from earlier in summer.
More bucks (and shooters) on my camera since July 5 than I had all of last year.

The radar looked real good for the area. It oughta be staying green for a few more weeks. Good luck to all & stay safe out there.

Southern young county. Right on the Young Stephens county line. First real year to hunt the new land we got a year and a half ago. This is actually my first year to bow hunt. I know it's going to be wet but I'll be out there this weekend.

I was out there last weekend and all I could think about was how green it is. I'm off Hamilton about 2.5 miles past the big turn.
