I wonder how many deer are ground checked and turn out to be illegal.

I say he is just under 13"

Those of you saying he's legal, are you familiar with Colorado County deer?

They're much smaller bodied than average for the state. If he's 13 inches, he makes it by a hair. Be interested to see after you drop him.

I would not say they are much smaller. Then STX deer yes, but central texas is all about the same size.

He is an older deer 4.5/5.5 so his ears are smaller compared to his head.

If he is shot we will see....I see 13.5 at the very lowest and maybe 14 inches

Here's a good view vs the ears. I have hundreds at night and 1 during the day of that deer. Going out there tomorrow, will be our day.....

Here's another that has shown up. Best I've seen on the place, although the tall 8 may score better. The new 9 has little nubs of a drop. As few times as he's shown up, I may find out what he looks like next year. I've also got an 11 that is 5-6 years old that is on the radar.

Trying to get them to show during the day is the challenge!

In Colorado county that deer is 12.5 inside. To close to chance plus he's young.. 3.5.
