Coryell Co Doe patrol. I um had a change of heart!

Opening morning I had two doe early in my corn pile and was waiting for more light to have a better look at which one I wanted to shoot. I recognize one of the doe and I knew she had twin fawns that still had spots last I saw them. She was by far the largest of the two so I wanted to wait a bit and make sure they are not with her. While waiting in walks in the really nice buck with a forked G2 that i did not recognize. After a few minutes I remember this guy last season chasing doe across the fence. I had forgot about this old boy because I assumed he wanted no part of the 8 wire fence that separates the property. Now all the while I'm telling myself No No No that is not one of your target bucks they are a bit larger deer..The old buck fed for about 10 minutes and slowly walked off.

Well I got to thinking,,you know you only get a few perfect moments in a season when everything is just right. Wind perfect,,cool weather and a mature deer perfectly broadside that 98% of all bow-hunters would like to shoot. Not to mention my target buck is only 4 and could use another year. I ask myself,,would I be proud of that deer and the answer was yes. Well crap I should just have a little fun and shoot the darn thing.

Well about that time I see movement headed my way and it was him. This time he died within seconds of entering my shooting lane!! And it was fun!!!
