Here I sit with a rifle on a meat hunt hoping to shoot a doe and one of our target bucks jumps in the pen. He hung out 15 yards from the tripod im usually sitting in with my bow. Had the crosshairs on him but kept debating myself until he left. I may regret that one...

Im stupidly stubborn about not taking a nice mature buck unless I can shoot it with a bow. Evidenced by the fact that I very rarely take a nice mature buck

I’d do the same thing. To me it’s bow or nothing when it comes to trophy bucks.

Yeah I’m just not having much luck so far this season. The only deer I’ve had in bow range have been young bucks and a yearling doe or two. I will stay after it all season
