Patched round balls go way back to mountain man days.
Flint lock goes back further than that.

Ok thanks. Why would you pick a 50 for sabots? Will a 54 not do as well with sabots? Sorry I know I can find a lot of info online, but I also like asking questions directly to people who know what their doing, unlike me! Lol.

Great! Thank you. I found the Lyman deerstalker online, looks pretty decent. Reviews are great. It’s really perked my interest. I’m not into hunting with bolt guns, (or in line muzzleloader) at least not near like I am with my bow, but traditional black powder is very appealing.
