Thanks for all the nice comments. For those wondering, the feeders I use are under $10 at Walmart and have no yellow on the flowers. It's simple and made of plastic. Don't buy pre-made mixtures. Use 1 part sugar to 4 parts water and NO food coloring. Migration will go on into October and longer the further down south.

I actually have 3 different cam bodies I use. The Sony FE 200-600 is a new lens they released in the last month. When these birds get use to you, sitting close isn't a problem. Thanks for the comment.

No sir, had it since Aug. 13. Just added an a6400 also.

      Thanks Shane, appreciate you.
How do you like it so far?

Love it and yes but I see I didn't post anything from so look out below. Do you attempt the bald eagles in the Woodlands? They will start working the nest next month. Loft Church parking lot in case you weren't aware.

                I have not yet!

Not sure of where exactly they nest so the 70-200 I have may be a little dicey..?

Hoping to add the 200-600 in the next few months.

Another great photo by the way

                      Awesome pictures, as always, Bill.
For those that have lenses without enough zoom, could you use a 2X multiplier, at least until you could save up for one of the more expensive lenses? If I remember correctly from my 35mm days, you loose some low light capabilities with a 1.5 or 2.0 multiplier, but there wasn't much difference in the photo quality. Is this true in the digital world?

Thanks again for looking and commenting guys.

Keith I used a 1.4x Sony on this pic this morning. Pied plumage.

I miss shooting hummers. We don't get them in San Antonio area like we did in the Houston area. This time of year I'd be out there every evening shooting them.

Great shots Bill! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Casey. I'm surprised you don't get plenty of black-chins around you. I was at Guad River SP when you were here and they were in the park.

I’ve got about 15 hanging around now. I love watching them. Cool birds for sure!
