Throw a tiny torpedo in black or clear and watch them blow it to the moon! I bet a smallish rattl trap would light them up too.

And then there is always the tired and true Colorado bladed 1/8 oz. white spinner.

Wow the crappie and smaller bass LOVED those beetle spinners. I probably caught 40 crappie and 10-15 bass. The biggest bass though were caught on Ribbit frogs. Nothing touched the brush hogs or worms that were successful in the spring. Couldn't get a bite on a spinnerbait either. Thanks to everyone that replied.

I love to fish ponds at night with a big, black jitterbug. Top water baits are so much fun because you not only feel the strike, you see and hear it as well.

Looks like a lot of fun. Next go around, downsize on your soft plastics. You might also try going with a lighter test line, depending on what you are already using.

good job. We have a pond and we have to take lots of crappie out every year. They eat so much and reproduce like pigs and rabbits. If you take them out by the dozens or a couple hundred year your bass size will grow. It works for us, we like to eat the crappie and love to catch the 5-8 pound bass. Also the kids really enjoy CATCHING crappie over a brush pile where its one after the other.

We also put about 50 pounds of minnows in each year as well.

DANG! Y'all got me all pumped up to go chunk a beetle spin in my tank now! Sure is hard though to pick up a rod n reel when I can pick up my bow... Got a feeder right by my back pond... maybe I'll sit by the pond with my bow AND rod n reel...
