It's not OSHA required as of yet. It's the Contractors that are requiring certs, as they get a cut on insurance. Me and all of my operators are NCCCO certified, because the GC's require it, not OSHA. I have a friend that operates on highway construction jobs, and he isn't even certified.

My guess is the appointed firemen will go back to the drawing board , modify their plans for statue removal, and start back up at 5am

Could be a major problem as the next 2-3 days call for rain and gusty winds
I think the city employees are just milking it for all it's worth.$$$$

Is there no safety latch on that hook?

I'm assuming some type of perpetual motion art work.

Should be. May be just a spring loaded mouse.

Man if something needed to be taken down, I would start with those.

Beavis and Butthead look frustrated with the rigging as it's fairly obvious they do not do this for a living

Could the next mayor and council put the monuments back in place once the current administration is gone? Without public input?

the rectangle window cutouts in the monument ?

at the bottom of the monument base is a door which leads to a spiral staircase inside the concrete pillar. The staircase goes all the up to the top and you can look out of the rectangle windows across the entire city

blueprint ... simply amazing this monument was constructed and put up in the late 1800's
