I have 5 months of income saved at all times as emergency fund and the rest goes to investments and lowering my debt. Lately, haven't invested because I can make more money by reducing my debt load

I and wife put back money to buy our house in Trenton. No vacations or extra stuff. No lease or new cars. It took us 3 years to rathole up 33,000 to put down on 20 acres and house. It was hard to do but way worth it!

I know that took took many sacrafices, but was well worth it.

I save up 2K a year for hunts
Right now I have 7400 in a CD to buy a truck in april
