Time to clean it up, hang decorations and build a "fire".

Very nice overhaul you have going on there. I built an outdoor fireplace years ago and swore I would never do another due to the work involved.

Fast forward to today and I am having trouble trying to find someone to do a stone alcove/wall for my wood burning stove in my barndo. Looks like I'll be doing this one myself too. My mantle is a 7ft long and 4" thick slab of oak.

Looks like you're not far from finishing, congrats on the build.

I bet this time you will enjoy the build more.
I've found that the older I get, I gain more patience and therefore slow down and enjoy my projects more.
