Has anyone been up there lately whats the water level like? Thanks I have never hunted the sections open this year and going to have to do some serious scouting.

Water is high. Out there last weekend and the main road behind the office was closed due to water.

That's what I suspected. I'm in a medical boot for another 3 weeks . I want the scout Harris Creek does anyone have any suggestions?

They are saying the water should be below the roads next week and then they will be doing repairs the following week.
The corps are releasing 187,000 gallons per second freon the dam.

It may be some of the snakiest country in Texas - especially when the water is up!

Timber rattlers, moccasins and copperheads galore in those bottoms...throw in a few coral snakes too!

I enjoy snakes, so I always look forward to trips at the H!

I'm heading up there in a couple weeks for a few days. I have some areas marked on Google maps in all three units so I can at least have a few spots picked out for segment A. I'm assuming the prevailing wind in November will be either south or north.

Water levels down and Roads are open. It's hot and windy, but I've been hiking around a lot. November 1 can't come soon enough.

Ive scouted the past 2 weekends,going back Sunday. deer are fat and in good shape,and bucks have nice racks with good mass. lots and lots of acorns
