“Mr. Sooner” sounds like an official title. I think I like it. [emoji12]

    All joking aside, thanks!

The next steps will be to get some soil samples done to see what fertilizer I need to spread. If this place is like others I’ve been on in Pushmataha County I’m pretty sure that it will need quite a bit of lime. The plots being on top of a ridge are somewhat unique for me.

That’s great. We looked in Bryan and Choctaw counties but couldn’t seem to afford it. The farther South we looked the higher the prices seemed to be which is one reason we headed North.

Congrats again! Look forward to following along on your journey.

Thanks! Yeah we got lucky. The place was under contract before then I saw it become available, then locked it up a day or two later. We looked up north as well and thought that’s where we would end up. I’ll start a thread once everything closes.

Can’t wait to see your place transform!

Heading up to the new place this weekend to attend the former owner’s estate sale. He’s got an auctioneer coming in so it should be a great people watching event. He’s got until 5/15 to get the place cleaned out/off. May pick up a few items if we can get a deal. Will beat having to purchase elsewhere at retail and haul it up there.

Will have had the four game cams out a solid month now. This will be the first time I’ve ran them since purchasing it. Hoping to have a healthy herd in the area and very few hogs and coons.

Will also be taking some soil samples to get ready to ship to OSU to see what the soil needs in the two areas where I’ll be attempting food plots.

Last time I was there I did some scouting and ran across some old homemade stands.

Actually looks pretty comfy. May update the ratchet straps, add my spare seat from the Ranger bass boat and get to hunting! [emoji12]

                      More to come!

Congrats on owning your own place. I was fortunate enough to be born into a family that owned acreage and each deer I kill on the family property means just a bit more than every other deer. Did the past owner give you any history of the wildlife on the property? Any deer they might have taken off the place? Or numbers and size they have seen on the place?

Since the owner is having an auction this weekend does that mean the entire place is up for bid

I just might have to swing by and bug you
