I'm trying everything. I've caught one coyote and have had LOTS of snapped traps.
I have no idea what is happening or not happening, other than I'm not catching.

If you don't mind I'll offer a suggestion. Try to find a way to stiff your pan tension. To the species you are trapping for me cats an coyotes only I try at least 5#s

The pans are adjustable on all but 4 of my traps (14 are). I can bump them up.
Your first comment is not clear. Are you asking about night latch or dog position?

And I don't mind any comments or suggestions.
              I'm perplexed.

Dog position. I'm wondering if the coyote is tripping the trap with his toes while the pad of his foot is on the loose jaw, which in turn flips his foot clear.

How far away from the bait are you setting your trap?

                    I bought them from F&T
This is what I use. Fast, easy, and pretty cheap.

I'm also dishing my dirt pattern to have the pan at the low point.

What brand of trap? Sorry I'm asking so many questions. It's just I've never had to rotate my trap position but have never had your trouble also

I am getting snapped on #4 Sleepy Creek double long springs. I have a dozen of those, though, 2 #4 Duke 4 coil, 3 #3 older Victor LS and another older #4 LS, brand I don't remember.
The only catch I've had was in Sleepy Creek.
