Could you unscrew the eye on the bottom and slide a big piece of heat shrink tubing over the ends to keep it from fraying?

Looks awesome BTW! People like you are the reason my wife thinks I should be able to make anything she finds on Pintrest!

I thought about that...but for one I aint unscrewin nuthin! That natural fiber rope is just lookin for a reason to come un-wound, also I want to try to keep it looking natural, or at least old. I think I'm gonna try to serve it with rusty bailin wire about 1 1/2" wide.

You don't know how bad I hate Pinterest....I told her no more pinterest until 2018.

Man that swing turned out great! I bet there were a few four letter words stated in that hanging process.
You could use braided fishing line to keep it from fraying.

I need to bump this one up. Working on a outdoor kitchen as well and love those c tops. Curious to hear how they have held up? Granite guys are telling me direct sunlight and staining could be a problem? Curious to hear if you would have do overs and are you sealing them monthly as the granite guys are telling me?
Hope the gut is feeling better!

Everything is good so far. No stains and I havn't sealed it again since it was installed, but I probably need to. I wouldn't doubt that the areas that get more direct sunlight may fade some, but I don't care....it's stone, that's natural.

It's a constant battle to keep clean, with all the dust we get from the wind up here, but that would be the case with any material. I love it.

Good to hear that’s probably the direction I will go. Bar top makes me a bit nervous because it will get all day sun but it is what it is.

Awesome build, love the countertops. I was going to do the same under my new porch but my brother spent a week in Colorado learning how to install epoxy countertops and is now the dealer for the company in the San Angelo area. He can do some pretty awesome stuff and is going to do my counters when I get ready, won’t have to reseal and UV proof.Click image for larger version
