get a box of the cheapest 150s, 165, and 180s. Once you have a winner in the weight department get a couple of different brands in that weight.

Whenever I get a new rifle that I will use factory loads with I like to try several inexpensive factory loads to try and find what grain weight seems to groups best and then look at using better ammo in that grain weight. I have tried federal fusion in 5 different rifles 4 different calibers and it has produced sub-moa groups in all of them.

Yup glass bedded, with like an 8x scope and something like a 178gr boat tailed sierra bullet.

165 Game King is a great bullet, loaded over H4350. Dad has used them since before I was born.

I use them in my 30.06 as well.

They just work, and work really well.

I had good accuracy and terminal performance with Federal Fusion 150 grain loads.

The Marine Viet Era was a re-built pre 64 Mod 70 Clip Slotted, glass bedded Receiver, Sporter barrel replaced w/ 24" Win. Hvy. Barrel or 26" Douglas barrels, always 30/06.

the gun was a 2 MOA rig

I use 180 grain partitions on everything from elk, whitetail, deer, hogs out of my '06. Nothing has complained or gone more than a few yards
