Not when you get into big fish.

My birthday is coming up and my wife surprised me with some fly tying stuff. She knows me so well.

My first fly is a wolly with a bead head.

I had some foam for the strike indicators so I made a little popper using that and some push pins.

I added a sun fish tonight, before we headed out bowfishing

I am spending and equal amount of time in the water in front and the trees behind

my casting is getting better... but I am not catching fish any better because of it.

Did catch my first fish on my first homemade nymph. Lots of other bumps but no hard takes.

Was reluctant to post another small fish.... but... caught him on a nymph I tied. I tied it with hare hair.

Those are good times. I broke my last fly rod and every now and then the itch comes back. I made a short trip to Breckenridge CO one year to fish for a couple days and all I caught was a trout about the size of your baby bass. My casting technique always left a lot to be desired though. It wasn't pretty. Keep it up.

I fly fished for the first time in about 5 years at the creek earlier this summer, me and the little brother took turns with the one rod we could find. It was a blast, and now thanks to you guys I need a fix again :P

There's nothing as rewarding as catching a fish on a fly you tied. I make some pretty great steamer's, I just wish I could make something else!
