There was no recovery made on that buck because he is still alive. The outfitter has trail cam pics of him from last year and this year. He is still a main frame eight with some kickers and his brow tines have grown substantially. We know its the same buck because of the brown spot on his right rear quarter.

Yes the buck did drop like a hot rock when I shot him. When I went over to recover the buck he jumped up and ran off. I found him 100 yards later in the middle of a creek looking up at the top of the bank. I was 15 yards, had a steady bead, and missed at 15 yards.

We still don't know what happened on the original shot but he did survive. I will be hunting him again this season in just a few short days.
