How long is whiskey good?

It's probably going to taste bad but not because it's old, mainly because it's VO

I can't answer if it's safe to drink because I never had an opened bottle last more than a year. Whiskey doesn't age in the bottle like wine. So a 6 year whiskey that is 33 years old is still a 6 year whiskey. It may go bad but it doesn't age unless you add wood or put in a cask.

It's inversely proportional to ratio of the size of the bottle to the glass

From my limited research, it is the cork that can ruin the whiskey or wine. All depends on how it was stored for those years.
