Two inch steel cable forged into a billet. Makes a killer pattern and plenty of carbon to make a good blade. I have the blade made, I just have to heat treat it. I decided on Alabama Damascus fighting bowie.

I'll do the final fit and finish tomorrow if I can get my shop warm enough. The sheath is going to have to pop too.

I agree; I have the feeling whoever buys it will only be a display knife. Not sure yet what kind of price I'm going to put on it yet, still depends on what I do with the sheath, it's already over $500.00. The sheath will have to be one is comparable to the knife quality.

How durable is a piece of scrimshaw? Will it last or is it pretty delicate? Never really messed with it before. Beautiful knife.

I reached out to Mr Conner to see if he can do some scrimshaw on a couple cow bone scaled Buck 110s for me. I hope the price and timing are right.
