I bought a Redhead 64 gun safe from Bass Pro and am more than happy with it. I wanted a dial combination lock instead of an electronic push-button one. We had an electronic lock safe and had a few issues with it over time. Like not being able to open it to get my wife's "Rockettes" show tickets for her New York Christmas vacation, just before her plane flight. BAD DAY!

Oh yeah go with a dial instead push button. I think even if the kids got a hold of the combo they still wouldn’t get in.

This is a loaded question and you need to put out a budget. There is no "best" safe. Gaffunder probably makes some of the best but man, you are going to pay for it. 1" thick steel all round.

I personally wouldnt buy anything from a sports store/big box. After all my research, I limited down to Ft Knox and Amsec. I ended up buying the Amsec BF7250. Buy once cry once.
