Honestly it seems to me a good way to ruin a kid on hunting would be to wound an animal using a marginal cartridge. I also don't think my 7 year old is ready for any of that though, so my perspective...

It isn't a factor for the Creedmoor, but for bigger cartridges ultra lightweight can be a negative too - weight absorbs recoil. It's all a balance.

Why would you get this instead of the 6.5CM? Howa and CZ are at least mini-actions, which saves about a pound and is easier to cycle.

Also the Howa comes in a 22in pencil barrel, and is cheaper...
