80lb sack of concrete wrapped in a trash bag or duct tape is pretty easy and cheap. I use bumper plate because I already have them. Avoid steel plates if you dont want to rub holes in your pack.

I have no issue with that angle with a compound. Thats a very doable angle. The buck I killed last year was even more toward me. The problem is garbage shot placement. Pretty much all guts there.
