Proof advertises that barrel to be 1-8.5. According to the previous owner the smith measured it and it's closer to 8.75 but you get the drift. I think you'd be fine with a 1-8, just shoot the 160+...

Success rates are a moot point in this decision as I won't choose an outfitter with below 90% success rates. No hunts are guaranteed but everyone I'm choosing will be **** near 100% every year.
