I just don't see myself spending that much on a bow sight. Another big reason I won't be getting one is because it is not legal in a lot of states I am looking into hunting in.

They will see plenty of horse tracks in the devils canyon area due to the trails coming from the Plum Creek equestrian area. Seems to be the most heavily traveled area for the horse riders.

Not a bad choice. I would consider them one of the better budget rifles for sure. 243 will be enough for pretty much anything you will need it for in Texas and be a nice shooting experience for her.
