    missouri public land

Been going to Kansas for several years and have been successful. The price of a license and tag now is almost 500 bucks.

Been doing some research on Missouri. Much more reasonable. 225 for non resident, which includes two deer and two turkey.

Anyone have any suggestions, pointers, information, etc?

Good deer state wide north of the Missouri has been best for quality and quantity but don't overlook southern Missouri they get to grow old in them hills. More public land in southern Missouri.

It is awesome. you should check out (location deleted) WMA. I have had some great encounters and snagged a couple of good ones there.

Missouri DNR will and you a ton of information on public lands. I emailed their Springfield office and got maps for the entire SW region of the state. Give it a shot

Missouri does a great job making info available easily. They have a .kmz file you can download for free. This .kmz file has every MDC area mapped out with links to the areas web page with additional info. View the file in google earth. Public land is limited to antlered deer only during all gun seasons (90% sure about that there could be some exceptions) and you cannot use doe tags on public land, which means you are limited to 2 "any deer" tags you get with the permit.
