Ruger Predator 6.5 Creedmoor.......gotta see this!

Operation cheap truck gun- $700 minus suppressor

Bought the gun on Friday, slapped a cheap Nikon Buckmaster scope I had laying around on it, and went to the range Saturday morning!!!!

This is shots 16,17,18

A $400 gun shooting 1/4" groups with factory ammo

Just sold mine last Wednesday to a fellow TBH'er
Loved it but didn't use it enough.

How are you 700$ in that thing with a buck master scope?

Colton 05-15-2016 07:35 PM

Wow, nice shooting!

SOOG 05-15-2016 07:38 PM

This will be the next rifle I buy..

Guess I thought the scope was cheaper than it actually was when I bought it.....turns out maybe I'm closer to 850-900 for the package which still isn't bad at all;)b

sendit 05-15-2016 07:53 PM

Nice! What did shots 5 through 15 look like?

1/2" groups til I could adjust my nerves and shoot better lol.....it's sad when I get upset at 1/2"

I let my buddy be the guinea pig and buy one first....his gun shot 1/4" as well so I knew these guns were capable if I did my part......it's crazy to think for a $400 rifle they shoot this good lol

I wish I could hold 1/4" groups...lol

Jäger 05-16-2016 02:04 PM

This is why im becoming a bigger and bigger ruger fan everyday. Its evident that they are really listening to shooters and delivering the goods, all for a price the working man can afford

But he can dot the "I's" with that rifle...

Man that's insane what they're doing with those rifles. It was on my list of things to try but decided I "needed" a fast twist 22-250AI instead...

Chad C 05-16-2016 02:17 PM

I know where you can pick one up for $360.

Gun broker $360-370 plus shipping and FFL transfer fee......usually $400-$430

Chad C 05-16-2016 06:34 PM

Ruger Predator 6.5 Creedmoor.......gotta see this!

Whittaker guns no sales tax, free shipping I believe. FFL transfer is whatever yours charges.

Sounds like a smoking deal

kumathebear 05-17-2016 05:37 PM

Just posted on another thread....IMO, price does NOT always dictate performance. The Son's and their DAD are Ruger fans based on experience.

You can change the stock inexpensively, depending on your preference, but it all boils down to the feel...performance and what you can spend AND how you are able to shoot!

Nice results and enjoy...we do with Ruger!

JMoore85 05-17-2016 05:44 PM

Looking at getting one

asttbe 05-18-2016 10:37 PM

I bought one in .308. It's a tack driver. I head shot a sow at 200yds.

Man after seeing this, I can't wait to pick mine up and go shoot it! What suppressor are you running and have you seen any shift with it on and off yet?

I've only shot it with my suppressor on...not even 20 rounds down the barrel! But I will guarantee you that there will be a POI shift with the suppressor on and off.....my suppressor is a Keechi Creek Arms 30 cal titanium suppressor built by my gunsmith

Good to know. I think a suppressor is going to be my next purchase and I'm attempting to get as much info as possible to narrow down what seems like hundreds of options.

Well heck, I joined the party. I just ordered a RAP 6.5CM from Whittaker for $377.98 delivered. I was contemplating getting my little boy a 7/08 in an inexpensive rifle, but this was simply too good to pass up with less recoil.

Billy Bad Bass 05-26-2016 08:52 PM

I drank the Kool aid and picked up mine last night. Added an old model Buckmasters 4.5 - 14 x 40 tonight. Hope to shoot it this weekend

Hahahahahahaa you can have it both ways, you know.

Don't take that too far!

I'd love to buy one of these rifles but with my luck, I'd get the one that shoots 3 MOA. I need to see a bunch of 'em shooting like this and I'll pick one up in either 6.5 or 308.

I know of 3 other friends who have bought one and they are shooting sub 1/2" with theirs shooting factory ammo

Since they're shooters, if you ever decide to trick one out.

MDT has an LSS chassis with detachable mag capabilities for them and there is an aftermarket titanium bolt shroud if the plastic one annoys you as much as it does me.

I now have 3 RAP's
.308
6.5 CM
.17 HMR

Stock sucks, but it's sufficient on the .17 HMR and they're great little shooters.

Chad, what kind of recoil does the Creedmore have?

I'd say less than or equal to a forgiving .243 and that's shooting 140 grain pills.

I agree, slightly less than a 243.
I'm getting to be a wussy when it comes to recoil but the 6.5 is easy enough.

geezer56 05-27-2016 11:35 PM

I have 3 of the Creedmoors. Savage 110 Trophy hunter, Ruger American Predator, and an Axis. Guess you could say I really, really like the round. Two deer and 3 hogs later, nothing has moved over 20 yards after the shot. I don't shoot paper much, and am a lousy shot to boot, but they all seem to be very accurate. I like the fact that I don't get abused while shooting as well. Recoil is less than a 308 for sure.

Chad C 07-25-2016 11:02 AM

May not be interested, but I thought I would share.

deerslay3r 08-08-2016 09:19 PM

I'm thinkin about selling my 700 30.06 to get this gun. Is this light enough for a walking/stalking whitetail rifle? What power Scope and a moderately priced one would y'all recommend?
