Dove Opener- Houston/Conroe Area

Looking for a place that can support about 10 folks full of birds around the Houston area. Would prefer NW or W of Houston. I'm in Conroe so anything up this way would be great too as that's where most of us are.

A coworker and I are looking to take a handful of customers out for a good time.

Any recommendations?

May be closer to 20 folks. This would be a paid hunt, of course.

Outfitters have pretty much all of it locked up. Oh, and I wouldn't trust a single one of them. Been there and done that.

Yeah I figure I have to use an outfitter but it'd be nice to have one that's recommended.

Lots of them out this way in Waller. I'll keep my eyes open for ya bud.

Well it's not north or west, but we've done the opener with Avian Skies in Edna, TX the past three years and it's been excellent every year. I'll be down there the first. I would imagine there is some room because our group isn't as big as it was last year. Life (babies, building house, etc...) getting in the way for some of the guys.

Jimmy West with Bolivar guide service hunts fields in Winnie just north of I10 and holds a lot of birds. He can handle the number of people you need also. I've been with him before and he is one of the few dove outfitters I would trust in this area.

Just stay away from Coastal Prairie if you'd like to actually kill something.

Try White Wing Fields in Brownsville on the banks of the Rio Grande. It is a long drive I know, but worth every minute of the trip. You will limit out by 9 or 10 am everyday. Great people. Fees are $100 per person per day. http://www.whitewingfields.com/
