Skipshot 02-14-2019 05:05 PM

I am not sure of my status for this event. House remodel is scheduled to be finishing up around this date so we may be moving into our new place. My pit is available even if I can't make it.

Nice! I'll see how early I can get the little dude motivated to head East.

Dave 02-23-2019 01:19 PM

It is with great sadness that I must announce I will not be able to attend this year. I will be backpacking with my sons Scout troop.
You will have to rub the frozen ribs without me.

Hate to hear that, Dave. I was looking forward to seein you, but I understand.

Anyone wanna drag their pit out and join in on the fun?

I am out for sure, will be working this weekend. My pit is out near Columbus and y'all are welcome to use it if someone can get it. Hate that we won't be there.

I hate to say it, but I'm out too. My backs against the wall on project I have to finish this weekend. If someone wants to take charge of Team Bean please do.

Heath 02-25-2019 11:04 AM

Hate to hear my favorite people will not make it.

I might actually have to do some work this year! [emoji15]

Michael 02-25-2019 11:07 AM

Some heavy hitters not making it this year.

Opportunity for others to step in and fill the void. Hoss will be there, but if anybody has another trailerable pit, this is your chance to get in the rotation! ;)b

Legdog 02-25-2019 12:19 PM

OK men, time to rally.

Hate to miss brothers Stolle, GJ and big Dave.

I think we can do it with just Hoss but a second pit would sure be nice. Starting to miss the Big Kahuna.

I think El Dog can be lead stud on team bean. Joe, you up for that?

I'm bringing a table, my shade, chilled patron and a cutting board.

We need foil, foil pans, trash bags, wood, charcoal, paper towels, dry rub, yellow mustard, some kind of cleaner product, sharp knives and maybe some honey.

Eldog 02-25-2019 01:53 PM

;)bI got beans!

I can pick up some Salt Lick rub. How many jars do we need?
I can bring 4 knives and a cutting board.
Preference on charcoal, and how much?
Do we need a pear burner to start us off? I can bring mine.

Iíd say two dealios of salt lick. Michael usually has a stash from his pit adventures.

Knives and cutting board helps.

Your pear burner will help if we get a second pit.

Kingsford charcoal would also be awesome. 4 bags is overkill.

Anyone up for trash bags, foil pans, foil and paper towels?

We also need hickory...

Heath 02-26-2019 08:13 AM

I hate for you to rely on us to bring anything you need since I am not sure what time we will be there on Saturday. We are driving in that morning.

We can ship in some funds to help if somebody will pick it up.

Regular or lump Kingsford?

Michael 02-26-2019 08:26 AM

Regular is fine.

Iíll bring some oak, but mixing in some hickory would be ideal if somebody has any.

I picked up two cans of rub, four bags of Kingsford charcoal and two bags of Hickory chunks.

Legdog 02-26-2019 06:18 PM

Thanks Scotty!

Anyone want to do foil pans, paper towels and foil?

Michael, do you still have some of that plastic sheeting that we use to cover the tables?

I can pick up all the above at Sam's. About how many foil pans would we need?

If you put six ribs in a pan and we smoke 72 racks of ribs, that's 12 pans.

But, we have never used that many as some ribs are sliced straight off the pit and some pans are re-used.

Then, there's also a chance that we break with tradition and smoke less than 12 racks (weather looks kind of "iffy").

I'd say 8 pans will be plenty.

Appreciate the offer!

I'll bring plenty. We hunt in weather colder than that!:D

What time is said shot?

Duane 03-01-2019 03:14 AM

I was hoping to make it but had to extend my return from Japan a few days. Just boarded my plane in Tokyo but wonít arrive home until Friday night, then have an unfortunate task to take care of Saturday morning.

Larry, I can transfer some funds to your account for a rib donation if thatís okay.

Michael 03-01-2019 08:18 AM

I think tailgating ran me out of the vinyl table covering, but Iíll make a trip to Sams to see if they still have some. Time to restock!

We light pits at dawn. After all the ribs are prepped and smoke is rolling, we raise a toast. It usually happens around 7 or so.

Legdog 03-01-2019 09:49 AM

Just got text from Bossman and we decided it's 54 racks this year since Hoss is the lone smoker.

That means we probably need at least 9 foil pans and a few more if we was to divide the ribs up in smaller packages.

Looks like we might catch a little rain. Makes no difference but plan accordingly.

SaltwaterSlick 03-01-2019 02:25 PM

Hey guys, Team Fish Heads has a bunch of pans and paper towels we can spread out to you guys... foil pans w/lids if needed... I made a big Sam's run year before last and I think we got a 10 year supply... Just Holler!

Double L 03-01-2019 05:30 PM

Just stopped at Sam's in C.S. and got the foil pans, foil and paper towels.

Heads up for Team Rib members. Per the Mayor, it looks like the new dawn is sometime after 7:00 AM.
