Legal? Colorado County
3 Attachment(s)
This new buck showed up for the first time this week, three nights in a row.
Ignore the date. Pretty eight, long tines nearly crossing over. No daytime pics. 3 1/2? My 11 yr old wants this deer bad!

Buck Smacker 11-12-2017 08:03 AM

Might have to ground check him

My thoughts as well.

Christianhuff 11-12-2017 08:19 AM

I'm pretty sure he is legal.

Lawhunter 11-12-2017 08:25 AM

Thisegtall tines make him look more narrow than he is

randal 11-12-2017 08:27 AM

I'd say too close to chance it..

Oldblue 11-12-2017 08:31 AM

Randal and I think alike, you don't want to take that chance.

seminole1990 11-12-2017 08:32 AM

he looks pretty "ALERT" in that top pic, like we see most animals reacting to the flash or whatever they see. He's o/s the ears--looks 13" to me!

texashunter56 11-12-2017 09:40 AM

He looks just under 13" to me.

CastAndBlast 11-12-2017 09:43 AM

Over 13” for sure. I wouldn’t hesitate

TheHammer 11-12-2017 09:55 AM

I think he's just a hair under

This little 8 from last weekend was 13.5”. Yours is bigger...let the kiddo shoot.

Ag_Attack 11-12-2017 10:03 AM

Looks legal and age guess = 4 1/2. He's run down so he appears younger at first glance.

Johnny Dangerr 11-12-2017 11:06 AM

Dang it is close.......

toledo 11-12-2017 11:12 AM

At least an inch over 13" and Id guess 4 on age.

Dillakilla 11-12-2017 11:39 AM

Thinking just over.

bullets13 11-12-2017 11:43 AM

I would say legal

hube06 11-12-2017 02:36 PM

Guaranteed legal

WBA2000 11-12-2017 07:34 PM

Bowhuntinonly 11-13-2017 05:12 AM

I say 14 and 4 years.

gingib 11-13-2017 10:27 AM

legal and 4.5 at least and possibly 5.5

COOLDAD1 11-13-2017 10:32 AM

BigValley 11-13-2017 10:33 AM

Legal. Probably closer to 15 than you think. I would say 4 1/2 as well.

Huntin Addict 11-13-2017 11:38 AM

I have lived in this county most of my life, I would say that he is way too close for me to take the shot. If he is 13" he is just barely 13".

There was a comment above that mentioned, he might be 4.5...I would have to say there is a chance that he is just that The rut is winding down in the county and he looks a bit run down.

gingib 11-13-2017 12:57 PM

First pic he looks 5.5!!!

Go shoot him.. I bet he is over 13.5 fairly easily

gap4040 11-15-2017 11:10 AM

Hopefully we get a chance to make a live and up-close assessment. He's a pretty buck! Thanks for the feedback.

Null90 11-16-2017 02:12 PM

Jason G-L 11-24-2017 03:31 PM

Shoot him

Garrettk 11-29-2017 06:20 PM

Harper24 12-10-2017 12:36 PM

Too close to call for me

Brian H 12-10-2017 07:44 PM

That deer is well over 13” and fully mature. Shoot him

Leon County Slayer 12-10-2017 08:08 PM

14-15.5" I'd guess

bullets13 12-10-2017 08:13 PM

He's legal.

Poppy 12-10-2017 08:19 PM

4 and half and 14

clffrdfdge 12-10-2017 08:23 PM

Yeah he’s legal

Lawhunter 12-10-2017 08:25 PM

Rich... 12-10-2017 08:33 PM

I think he's legal

gap4040 12-10-2017 09:47 PM

We've seen him on camera in daylight a few times now. Just now when we are there. Cellular trail cam is a curse - and a blessing. Her was in the feed for an hour on snow day. Got the notifications as I walked into a meeting. Argh!

tradtiger 12-10-2017 10:12 PM

Choot im!

Doublelunger 12-19-2017 10:51 AM

Id say legal

stinkbelly 12-19-2017 10:55 AM

I wonder how many deer are ground checked and turn out to be illegal.

I say he is just under 13"

Not this one! He isn't even close to being illegal

gonehuntin68 12-19-2017 12:24 PM

Easily over 13" and at least 4.5

BitBackShot 12-19-2017 12:31 PM

Those of you saying he's legal, are you familiar with Colorado County deer?

They're much smaller bodied than average for the state. If he's 13 inches, he makes it by a hair. Be interested to see after you drop him.
