I got my place in spring of 2017. This buck was a 12, then 11, then 10 and this year a 12 again. He’s always been short tined but I knew this year he was probably as good as he was going to get.

In August, Friday the 13th I hit a red tailed hawk with my bicycle and crashed bad. I broke my left hand and right collar bone so I knew this bow season was screwed. I had surgery on my hand Sept 29th and borrowed a crossbow to hunt this October. I’m anti crossbow but it was my only option.
I came out Monday and sat with my spotter and saw the buck from a ways out. He looked good and decided to come back this weekend and hunt him.
After a couple hunts he finally came in and I shot him. There is a tank about 40 yards away and he went right in and died out in the tank.
Luckily my good bud was willing to go in and get him since I’m one handed for now and have a broken collar bone on my “good” side
This buck was at least 8. Being as beat up as I am I’m thankful to have been able to get a nice bucks this season
