Fishing Guide Recommendation - Baffin Bay

I want to book a trip with my wife and 3 boys on a trip to South Texas fishing around Baffin Bay, laguna madre area. Any recommendations? Would be 5 people on the boat and with kids would want to use live bait. Thx

Try my nephew Mark Franklin. He has a website.

Chad Peterek is best guide on coast week over week imho.

I also love captain sallie blacks operation in the back of Baffin.

When are you wanting to make this trip? Not a lot of live bait fishing in the heart of winter if that’s what the kids want to do. Sally Black can figure it out for you. Give her a call at Baffin rod and gun and see if Bo Patrick can take you. He will get those kids on fish.

Tip- get a good hat mine disintegrated after 2 days. Kids thought it was funny but my neck didn’t

Another for Joey. He consistently catches nice fish and has been for years.

Aaron Loomis is about the same.
Sally Black is also top notch as others have suggested.

There are a lot of good ones. These are some of the best.

Some guides won’t take 5 unless you are wading. That will narrow you options down a bit. I personally have not fished with Joshua mettlach but he is very consistent filling the boat with fish. He know these waters well and I have not ever heard a bad thing about him. Met him a few times and he seems personable enough to handle all skill levels of fishermen. He runs a 23’ shoalwater so I know you won’t feel crowded on his rig. You definitely don’t want to get stuck on a 21’ boat with 5 people and your guide. I have fished with many other guides but Josh is a solid choice for our area. If you have a short list of guides you can PM me and I can fill you in on what I know about each guide on your list.

Has anyone ever tried those floating cabins down there? I’ve always wanted to rent one out for the weekend.

Yes. Loads of fun, once the lights come on you can catch a ton of fish but keepers will likely be 1 of every 10 you catch. We like going in March/April, drum are in that area thick around then.
