    form 1 parts weight

Morning folks, I've been looking to build a can for a while. As I look at many sites most neglect to give weight of parts. I'm not much on show but I am on weight. Would a 8" can in TI weigh a whole lot less than comparable steel? If the difference is a pound for a finished can I would do TI. If overall difference was 6oz, maybe not.

I was looking at a DM 8" TI kit at 420.00. It doesn't state a weight. I can build comparable steel for about 250.00

    Thanks

It will save you some weight but not a significant amount. End caps tube and spacer being TI will save you a bunch of weight but the cones or cups being steel won't help you much. For example I got a white trash kit 7.5" and it weighs right at 15.5 ounces it has 8 TI cups and 2 steel everything else is TI. My first one I built with SDTA tube caps spacer TI that's is 7" with 4 TI cups and 2 PPA steel cups is identical in weight to this second one.

Buddy has a 9" can exactly the same as the first one I built using TI sdta caps tube and spacer but he used 9 PPA steel cups and it weighs 19 ounces. But his all steel quiet bore kit comes out to 31 ounces with same number of cups.
