Buddy needs help learning to skin/carve up a hog

I've got a buddy that lives in far west Leander off of Nameless Road. He's looking for someone that will come out and help him cut one up for the meat. First one or two the teacher gets to keep the meat... I'm sure he'd let you hunt one as well. If you are in the area and would be willing to help him out, PM me and I'll pass you along to him.

Have your friend look at Growing Deer TV on YouTube. They have videos on how to skin, gut, and cut up deer. Not a real big difference between the two.

Yes, no difference between deer and hogs. One trick though that I learned while working in a slaughter house as teenager was that it is easier/quicker to skin hogs if you first cut strips in the hide. Cut the hide into 4 to 6 inch strips starting from top to bottom, but only cut just threw the skin with sharp knife tip if you want to leave the fat attached to carcass, deeper thru the fat if you want the fat to come off with the skin. If leaving the fat attached, just cut the skin from the fat at the top to start and it should just strip on off as you pull down.

As mentioned, not much different than a deer. Tell him to give it a whirl. Make sure to get Lymph nodes out. :-)
