    Feeder pen help

Looking for ideas here. Need to set two feeder pens out to keep cattle, goats and pigs out. Solid rock area... What have y’all done. Any ideas welcome. Thanks

Generator and a hammer drill with a long bit. Drill as deep as you can then drive tpost or re bar depending on what size bit you use.

Find some pre made panels that don’t require t-post a little more expensive but heck of a lot easier to work with in rock !

        Feeder pen help

Spend the extra money and buy the panels that link together without having to use tpost. Easy to move and less headache.

Either the panels that link together, or rebar and a t-post driver. But in heavy rocks, you are going to work your tail off trying to get that rebar in. If the rock is fairly spread out though, this should work fine.

Yup. Where did you purchase these? Not going the air drill route

Buy some hog panels and weld 1 inch square tubing around it. Then just link them together. Cost a little more but well worth it

I went the rock drill route because I already had the t-posts and panels..... and it was a piece of cake. We have a big shale about 6" down in this area I am set up in and driving them was a no go. Rented the compressor and drill from Hollmeyer in San Angelo for $120ish/day several years ago and it made quick work of the 40 posts. The hardest thing was taking a hammer and knocking off the plates on the tposts to fit in the holes and that wasn't too bad either. Each hole took about 30-40 seconds to drill. Put the post in the hole...tap it down 2-3 taps with a driver to set and push the rock dust back in....sets up real nice....and when it rains it sets up even nicer

I bought 26 panels that link together they are 10’ long 4’ high and it took my wife and I about an hour to build two pens around our feeders. Paid 1220.00$ And he drove down to Kerrville and meet me. Great guy to deal with.

I bought mine at Jacoby Feed and Seed in Melvin. I've got 3 pens like this now and will get more. I noticed that Compton Warehouse Co in Menard has some similar too now, the other day when I picked up a Lamco feeder there.

Just buy the heavy gauge hog panel 16ft and overlapping them by a foot and wire them together
They are surprisingly strong and wont tip.
A few fence stays help keep em in place.
                              No need to use tpost
