Howdy folks, I have a mil style pistol upper with a mil spec front sight. I don't ever see myself using the open sights as I can't see them anymore. I'm inclined to just cut the sight off and go on but wondering how hard it is to buy a LP gas block and install.

I cut one off before, had no issue with it -
Low pro block is simple. You will need to knock out the pin and swap the gas tube to the low pro.
But if you swap gas block, I’m assuming you have a 2 piece Handguard you will need to figure out what to do without the cap for Handguard.Comment

Swap out isnt hard at all. You just need a punch and preferably a block to hold the FSB properly but not necessary.
You will need a gas block with a hand guard retainer to replace it though if you have the regular 2pc handguardComment

depending on how your FSB is attached, cutting or shaving it down is about as "right" as you can do it.Comment

Just remember the pins in the front sight knock out from the left side to the right.Comment

Seems like you’ve already made your decision but I can’t cut one down on my rifles.
I actually like the FSB depending on the use of the rifle and I think they cut down FSB looks like and afterthought and cheap.
