Need some help with 6.8 SPC

I am getting the itch for another gun and I have my eyes set on a semi-auto 6.8 SPC. Question is I am on the fence if I should have one built or go with a factory LWRC or something similar. This gun will be run suppressed 100% of the time so I am thinking piston. Needs to be very accurate/reliable, and on the lighter side. Must have a great trigger (I'm thinking single stage), etc. 14.5 to 16in barrel. Shots will be 20-300 yards, mainly a pig gun. Need a soft shooter so I can stay in the 1x6 scope for follow up shots on running pigs. This isnt a budget build, and I tend to "over do" most of my projects.

If custom builder is the answer, who do you recommend? I have used out of state guys before. Would like a Texas (close to Houston if possible) builder this time.

    What do yall think?

    Thanks

    Brian

Ar’s are easy enough to build yourself. I wouldn’t go lwrc just because of proprietary mags. Plus you can build one with nicer components yourself. I have two 6.8 both shoot very well, one was a complete upper from palmetto with their stainless barrel, my other is a built with Satern barrel jp bcg geissele trigger lightweight rail and all that. Honestly they both shoot dang near as accurate as each other. Just buy quality parts you main thing is gonna be your barrel and trigger, would also run a adj gas block since running a can, seekins, supperlative, SLR seem to be the best. I love mine for hogs and deer the 95 ttsx or the 120 sst do some damage

I’ve got a Stag complete upper and just got one of their lowers.

Gun shoots around an inch with 90 Speer Gold Dots and a little under an inch with 110 HP Hornady.

LWRC is on the wish list... just haven’t spent that kind of $ on 1 gun... Yet!
If $ wasn’t an issue that’s what I would have done from the start.

Ldub all the way. They make nice stuff. One of their 6.8s sbr is on my list.

This guy is a good custom builder for 6.8 uppers.
Custom built AR 15 uppers in 6.8SPC and 5.56 caliber.

Not sure if he does full rifles but you can always buy a complete lower from somewhere like Primary Arms.

Of my 3 68's, two have ARP barrels and I have been very happy with them.

The 12.5" plus a can makes a handy rifle.

plenty of reading to do on his website too-

Only the LWRC “Six8” has proprietary mags. I have an “M6A2” in 6.8 SPC that is a hog hammer shooting 120 grain Hornady SSTs. Many brands of mags fit this gun. My preference are PRI or Barrett.

              Good hunting

                  Yep.

                  From their website:
Magpul 6.8 mm magazines will only function in the new lwrci six8 model rifles. They will not function in older legacy (mil-spec lower) 6.8mm rifles or any other manufacturer's rifles.

Im shooting an Armalite 6.8 SPC with 16" barrel and accuracy is good. It did take me a minute to find ammo it really liked and that turned out to be 110gr Nosler Ballistic tips.

I ended up with with the LWRC Razorback II, going to run the Leupold VX6HD 1x6 with CDS and Firedot, with my Sig TI suppressor. The shop I purchased already changed the trigger to a two stage Geissele

                        Buy once cry once.

                        Should be a sweet gun!

                        Thanks everyone

I'm in the same position...currently running a LWRC REPR and love it, but I'm tired of carrying it around all night. I'm going to go with a 6.8 and started looking at TRIARC Systems, but I can find a lot of feedback on them.

I'll be curious to follow how you like the Razorback
