    Traditional FSC Week 27

Wanting to provide a challenge that is fun, with zero intimidation factor. By that I mean virtually any level shooter can compete to WIN this week. Just need a standard 9-inch paper plate.

Setup is to draw an 8-section "pizza"-type pattern on the back (bottom or table side of the plate). Add a one-inch circle in the middle of the pattern. Now number the wedges thus: 1,8,2,7,3,6,4,5 around the plate. Stick a single nail or pin through the center of the plate from the front (food side) of the plate to attach it to your backstop. Give the plate a spin and go back to 11 yards to shoot three arrows from a sitting or kneeling stance (one or two knees).

Note that you will be shooting at the BLANK side of the plate. After shooting the shots, take a picture, then pull the arrows and take a pic of the backside, which will have the score. It will be a surprise, and anyone can score well or not so well.

The one-inch circle is a no-go zone, with a value of only "1", if the majority of an arrow is in the circle. Missing the whole plate (touching is not missing) is a deduction of 3 points. Other than that, just add up your points, taking the higher value for any arrow touching or cutting a line. Three days' tries at this. Have fun.

Winner will have the highest single day score.

Also, while you get three days' tries, you need to make a fresh target for each day. Point is to have to pick a spot on a blank plate that is NOT the middle. Then, luck will determine your score. However, you will know whether or not you hit the spot you aimed at.

Thanks, Reb. And, yes, this is a concerted effort to encourage a little more participation. Any level shooter has a chance. Sure, luck is involved, but you still have to hit a nine-inch "kill zone" from a seated or kneeling stance, which simulates a shot from a blind or an ambush shot on a game trail. Plus, there's the factor of picking a spot where there is none. The scoring aspect is just for fun. Real hunting calls for luck sometimes as well. Not unlike hitting in baseball; you hit the ball hard, but can't always control the results.

I see there are 71 views so far; hope those folks try it. Good luck. Have fun!

Not bad, Reb! But are you sure that top arrow is not touching the plate?

Got all the bad stuff out of the way. A -3 miss, and a center 1 +6 =4

                            TX Reb still leads.
