    My Box Stand Build

My 5'x7' with Deer View Windows and metal door. I am no carpenter and this build took me longer than most. It's heavy, but she's air tight and dry. I also added the eyebolts, cables, turn buckles, and trailer anchors for extra assurance she don't blow over by accident. The studs for the frame is the only thing not treated. I wish now I would have went with treated for the long run.

    Sorry for the sideways pics...

Yeah that is a really nice job! Do you have a good idea of what the total cost was for this? I'm weighing the option of building or purchasing something similar.

Looking at doing something very similar...can you share material list and/or the design?

If you will drive a couple of t posts in and wire them to those support 2 x 6 members you will not have blow over issues. Mine have stayed upright in 80 mph sustained winds doing nothing but tposting them. I learned from trial and error.

Thanks for the kind words. To answer some of the questions:
Like I said, I'm by far No carpenter. This took me twice as long as someone with skills would have taken, so No I don't want to build another if I can help it...LOL
I think total cost was ~$1,000 give or take $100.
To be honest, I literally winged the materials and plan of this build. I knew I wanted a True 5'x7', meaning I first started building the base, and measured 5'x7' from the inside of the 2"x6"'s. From there, I framed out the walls, and set them. I got my Deerview Windows and door from Dickinson Feed. My biggest question was how to frame out the door and windows. They were Very helpful in sharing this information, and once I got the hang of it, the windows literally popped in and you screwed them in.

A rough list of materials I used:
                          4- Treated 2x6's (for the base/floor frame)
                          4- Treated 4"x4"'s (legs)
2x4 studs (I think 12 for the walls. I wish now I would have went with treated...)
3- Sheets corrugated metal for the roof.
8- Treated sheets of 1/4" plywood for the walls/roof.
2- Treated sheets 3/4" plywood for the floor.
4- deerview windows. They come in different lengths etc. Depending on your preference.
1- Metal door from Dickinson feed. (This was expensive. I think I paid $200+, but it's worth every dime. It locks and keeps it all airtight along with the windows.
1- Gallon black paint for inside
1- Gallon brown paint for base color for outside.
1- Gallon green paint for outside.
6- Cans of silicone (used on joints)
Some flashing I screwed into All joints and silicone afterwards.
                          5lbs of deck screws
                          5lbs of trim wood screws
4- Concrete blocks to set the legs.
I forget how much cable, but some of that...
                          2- Trailer anchors
                          4- Eyebolts
                          24- cable clamps
                          4- turn buckles
Some scrap carpet I found marked down at Lowes for the inside.
Elevator Bracket kit. This made installing the legs easy.
                          Some Cold Beer (Miller Lite)
4 buddies from work willing to help lift and set it all.
Some more Cold Beer and and a fish fry for them for helping.
                          I think thats it...
Sorry I don't have the exact plans and material list. Like I said, I winged it day by day.
I attached a link to Dickinson Feed if ya'll want to check out their windows/doors.

I think my build is cheaper than buying one. I spent ~$1K. I think it's more rewarding doing these type projects if you have the time. I'm glad I did it, but I put in some serious man hours getting it done. I literally built the base first and built around That... The rest fell in place. If you have Some idea of what you want to do and your willing to sacrifice your time and some work, you can save money. If not, spend the extra $500-$1,000 and buy a fiberglass/polymer blind with the same type windows/door.
