Who bow hunts out of a box blind?

I'm getting old....er and I'm tired of climbing a tree. (kinda). I'm considering something a little safer, warmer and shorter. Please post your experiences, good and bad.

I don't really have trees tall enough for a tree stand so it's always a blind or tripod. I really like bow hunting out of a box blind that is really hidden in the cedars. I can move around a lot more and it's definitely nice on those cold drizzling days. But that early October can be a steamer in a box so then I prefer the tripod.

I love hunting out of a box blind. For me with kids hunting too, it’s the best option. We made some blinds that we can bow and gun hunt out of.

I'm too old and fat to be climbing trees....love hunting out of a box or krivoman blind and have been since 2007. We have 14 pens on our place and they all have box bow blinds or krivomans on them.

This will be my first year bow hunting out of a box type stand. I have a potbelly I’m going to convert into a bow blind. I’ve always used tripods or ground blinds, which I guess is the same concept. I wanted to be able to fit others in the blind with me, and actually be able to hold some heat in from my Mr Buddy heater. I’ll still keep my tripods for a chum spot or some road corn, but I’m ready to get some bow sits out of the potbelly!

When I turned 65 I gave up my climbing stand and started using ladder stands and tripods. Now that I'm 72, I'm thinking of going to popups or box blinds.

I'm there with you Sir, I built me some platforms for my ground blinds and they worked great this year, 6x6x2.

                God Bless

Box blinds ,tents, tank blinds are whatever you want to call them are a great way to hunt . I don’t know if I will ever go back to hunting a tree stand are tripod. They are just so much more comfortable to hunt out of .

I love a box 8 to 10' off of the ground. I build them with a floor entry, good ladder & a 14"X 22" window.
I have always wanted to build one with a swivel chair on top, possibly with a mesh shade over it for those hot days.

Just built this past season was extremely comfortable with a heater. I prefer tree stand bow hunting but this just made it so much easier for taking the family

I prefer tripods to set up ambush spots. But, I built a box blind when my boys were little and it is still in use. My son rifle hunted out of it when he was younger and now bowhunts out of it. I will use it when the weather is bad.

It is nice to be protected from the elements and be able to move around some. Mine is about 4' off the ground.

Are they a good bit better for scent control vs a tree stand? Can you hunt them effectively with a marginal or changing wind? I'm considering my options for an area with swirling winds down in the bottom.

We hunt West Texas, ain’t nothing tall enough to hang anything on used to use natural blinds, but switched to box.
