Kicking around an idea and could use some help determining if this is worth messing with. I recently purchased 15 acres that's got a lot of deer. It's about 30 minutes from College Station near lake Somerville. Pretty much my only planned use for the place is to take my kids to shoot a couple does each thanksgiving weekend. Multiple deer at the feeder every morning and afternoon. Only had a feeder out for two weeks and have ID'ed a minimum of 16 different deer and that could be way low. Small property but it's the thickest woods around and I don't think many people hunt the area. One side is bordered by a large property that's not hunted. Its a perfect place for a single bowhunter wanting to regularly see game and fill tags without having to drive far or deal with lease drama. Filling doe/spike tags would be easy. 13" buck shouldn't be hard with a little effort. There are 140"+ in the area but so far Ive only seen 120" 3-4 year olds on camera. What would someone pay for a place like this for one hunter to have exclusive use except for Thanksgiving week? Just trying to cover taxes. I would maintain feeder. Thanks for any thoughts!

Truth! Those deer are crawling all over that place at the moment for a reason.
Any pigs or turkeys on that place?

Actually, a place like that might be appealing to a guy like me. I'm a disabled veteran with mobility issues. I can still walk, but man am I slow. It would take me a while to walk and hunt 15 acres. Depending on the availability of water and electricity, I'd probably pay $1,500.00 - $1,800.00. My son and I have a lease in Goldthwaite that is pretty much perfect for us, and we pay $3,000.00/yr.
Good luck,
Dave

I bet some of y'all would re-evaluate that 15 acre lease if you had to put your money where your mouth is.
I ain't mad, but IMO a post of $2,000 gives the OP an overinflated worth of his 15 acres of what could be unimproved land. Not even knowing if there is a campsite with water or electric.
I thought $800 was a fair price to lease a place where the landowner already said he will be hunting over the Thanksgiving weekend. My price looks like a low ball offer now
OP if you can actually get one of these guys to fork out $2,000 for your place then that's awesome!
