    Howa Gameking or Savage Axis ii predator

    Found a Howa Game King pkg 25-06 at a local pawn shop. Asking $485. Told me they will take $485 out the door.
    Guy i work with son just bought a Savage Axis II predator at Wally World with camo stock and heavy barrel 6.5cm with Bushnell scope for $398.
    The Nikko Stirling scope on Howa looked pretty decent. Not sure on the Bushnell.
    I offered $400 for the Howa. No dice.
    Liked the way the Howa feels.

    No experience with either, but I'd take the Howa over the Savage Axis. Especially if you like the way it felt and was what you were looking for. Nikko Sterling scopes are junk though. I have a Howa that came with one about 10 years ago. You couldn't snug up the elevation cap as it would contact the turret and change POI. I swapped it out for a Nikon but the rifle has been good to me from the beginning.

      Thx. Reviews of rifle are great. Scope was very mixed. Scope would have to do for right now

          I'd go with the Howa as well but you should be happy with either. You can find that Howa brand spanking new for not much more? I didn't even check around just looked at the first thing that popped up. I'd be you can find it for a better price somewhere. I'd check Howa website for rebates as well.

                    I went through this process about two months ago, Sambo. Bud’s is the only place I could find the HOWA Gameking in 7mm08 with green Hogue stock. You can find the black stock in 7mm-08 but not the green.

                    Good luck. I sighted mine in with Federal Fusion 140 grain. It took 6 shots right out of the box. I was very pleased.

                          I wouldn't spend money on junk just because it was bolted to something I wanted.
                          The price they're offering it for is about the same as new and they probably paid $100 for it.

                              If you don’t buy the Howa, pm me where it is. I just might be interested in it. Got two Howa’s now and enjoy them very much.
