Some kind of ratsnake, head is different than a bullsnake

While the pattern is similar to a bull snake it does appear to differ in certain aspects. However there are some varying patterns out there. What is throwing me off is the head. Maybe it is the photo. Definatley does not look like a bull snake head. Appears to have a pit viper head. That is the only think that keeps me from thinking it is really a bull snake.

If that's a rat snake he must live off of African Pouched Rats...

given the head, uniquely-colored diamondback water snake

I'm going to go with some version of rat snake, basing it off its head. Weird pattern...

I'm no expert but Google said Diamondback water snake. There are ponds all around where he was photographed.

That white on the bottom of his head makes me say it's a water snake. You don't see that pattern on the head of a bull snake.

Definitely not a watersnake. The dark head and white chin is typical of ratsnakes. Bull snakes usually have a lighter colored head.

I would go with some type of rat snake. I don't think bull snakes have the light color under their head.
