Daily Bible Portion – 3 of 7
"AND HE CALLED"
(Weekly Reading>>Leviticus 1:1-6:7, Isaiah 43:21-44:23, Hebrews 10: 1-18, Romans 8:1-13 )
The first born from these tribes became Yahweh’s priesthood. At Mount Sinai during the incident of the golden calf, the firstborn Sons of Israel adulterated themselves before it thus setting aside their firstborn status for a season until the time of Messiah. At Mount Sinai Yahweh raised up one tribe, the Levites, to serve as a perpetual priesthood before Him. When Yeshua fulfilled the sacrifice for our sin and guilt He resurrected and began to rise up the redeemed firstborn in Him.
Today, the firstborn Sons of Israel have been redeemed and restored through the death, burial and resurrection of Yeshua, the Messiah. The pattern and teachings given us in Leviticus are vital for the restoration of the priesthood. According to Scripture this priesthood will operate in the order of Melchizedek on earth representing Yahweh and His Heavenly Kingdom to the Nations (Exodus 19:5-6; 1 Peter 2:9; Revelation 1:6; 5:10).
Peter referred back to this quote from Exodus to believers knowing he was speaking to priests (the elect) in the Melchizedek order from the twelve tribes of Israel.
Establishing Kingdom Order in our Lives
The Abrahamic Covenant establishes our redemption/salvation and the Mosaic Covenant , the words given to Moses at Mount Sinai, is our “how-to manual” describing how to walk in our redemption (the Abrahamic Covenant ). The book of Leviticus is a part of the Mosaic Covenant and is our instruction booklet of how to live in the tabernacle/Kingdom with Yahweh. Without Leviticus (our instruction book), we will not know how to live in the Bridal Chamber, as it is the manual for life called the Gospel . Obeying Yahweh’s instructions/principles is in the realm of life, which leads to abundant blessings. Doing what He has asked us to do is called “faith ” (holiness) (Hebrews 11). This is how He knows we love Him - when we do what He has asked us to do by walking in obedience to His Word/instructions which contains His love, His will and His purpose for our lives (John 13:34 -15:17).
Choose Life
If we choose not to follow Yahweh’s instructions for life, we incur the folly of our own choices and can likewise enter into the realms that bring death. It is our choice. In history, some taught Yahweh’s loving instructions in a manner that brought man’s legalism and death upon His people. This is called living under bondage (death) to the letter of the law (Matthew 23:4). Early church fathers like Marcion began to teach a two Deity principle stating that God and the Old Testament (Torah) were no longer valid now that they were under the New Covenant of Grace in Yeshua. They translated the word for Torah under a generic Greek term called nomos ( law ). In doing this they mixed the law of life (Torah), and the law of sin and death , and man-made religious laws into one all-purpose word - nomos. This made it hard for believers to discern which “law” the bible verse was referring to. That is how Yahweh’s loving instruction began to take on an unfavorable quality among the New Testament believers. Marcion taught that anything to do with the law of the God of the Old Testament was bad and the law of Jesus in the New Testament was like a “new” law and was good. But Paul in Romans 3:31 said,
Being separated from Yahweh’s teaching and instruction for generations, the people began to see Torah as a strange thing, but Yahweh said He would bring us back to His loving kindness, His teaching and instruction, and restore us in the last days (Hosea 8:12; Amos 8:11-13; Jeremiah 31:31-34; Hebrews 8:8-12) (Strong’s #H8451 Hebrew for Torah . #G3551 Greek for nomos).
Grace or Redemption?
Yeshua did not tell His people to stop at the cross (at grace and forgiveness). The miracle of Yeshua’s walk on earth was in showing the sinner they are not only forgiven of their dishonor but that they are also a redeemed people/bride. This is the complete "sign" of Jonah. Not just the three days and three nights. Just like Nineveh we too must repent of our old wicked and evil ways, return/repent to Yahweh then we too will be saved as a people. This is so important because many believers in church today accept the redeeming Blood of Messiah only to continue in their old walk. This lack of understanding is critical to our walk as followers. Paul reminds us that ALL our fathers were baptized by Moses [1 Cor 10:1-11] yet many were destroyed because they continued to lust after evil things. That generation never made it to the Kingdom and this is to be an example for us today. We will be judged in the same manner for Yahweh is not a respecter of man. He is Just in all His ways. Jude reminds us about our salvation and how their will be those who pervert the grace given to us by saying we don't need to obey God by walking in newness of life.
The writer of Hebrews explains how that generation had received the same Gospel as us then warns us how it did not benefit them because they were disobedient.
For this we must continue in our walk beyond the cross. Our new walk only begins at the cross we must then run the race to achieve the imperishable crown of life. Having this understanding is what drew thousands to Yeshua and not the hypocritical Pharisees.
In Leviticus we learn the walk of sanctification and redemption. We know Yeshua forgave our sins at the cross but what happens if we sin after the cross? At the cross Yeshua appropriated forgiveness for all generations past, present and future, but does this mean that if we sin after the cross we do not have to obey His instructions given so long ago at Mount Sinai? No! We are taught to repent [turn back] and follow His prescribed instructions for restoration or that “new sin” will activate against us and separate our relationship with Him. This offer of forgiveness has graciously been made for us through Yeshua’s death. All that is left for us to do is to acknowledge our sin and be responsible for it through repentance and "turn away" from doing it again.

Numbers 3:12-13 “I Myself have taken the Levites from among the children of Israel instead of every firstborn who opens the womb among the children of Israel. Exodus 19:5-6 “Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine. And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel.”

1 Peter 2:9 “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to Yahweh, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful Light” (Exodus 19:5-6; Revelation 1:6).
Revelation 1:5-6, 5:9-10 “and from Jesus Christ/Yeshua Ha Mashiach, the faithful witness, the first-born of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us, and released us from our sins by His blood, and He has made us to be a kingdom, [of] priests to His God and Father; to Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. And they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy art Thou to take the book, and to break its seals; for Thou wast slain, and didst purchase for God with Thy blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation. And Thou hast made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God; and they will reign upon the earth.” (NAS)
