    Tundra help

My 2007 Tundra's door locks unlock fine with the key fob, but when I try to use the actual key in the door it will not unlock. Turns fine. I think the are electrical rather than mechanical. Tried both keys. Tried graphite. Opened up door panel and all connections good. Any suggestions?

Did you watch the mechanism with the door panel off. Im pretty sure the key is mechanical.

I did and could not really see anything moving. Reason I thought it was electrical is because I thought I could roll down window with it also. But can't remember.

Just tried the key on my 2016 and it seems to be electronic. Not 100% sure though.

If you can open up the door panel, should be one screw behind the plate behind the inside handle and one screw under that little flet thing. The door panel should pop off it has plastic tabs holding onto the door. There’s 2 cables that run to the door hand, 1 to the handle the other one to the lock and I bet that cable came loose.

Also you have to pop off the control panel and disconnect the 2 wire harness. YouTube has a bunch of videos on how to do it, it’s not very hard.

                  It's mechanical. It's a simple thing.

Link to video on how to take It all apart.... And then rebuild the power actuator for the electric lock. You shouldn't need the second part.

My door or tailgate neither one would open with the key. Key was really worn looking. Odd that it would be both keys worn out, but a new key solved my problem!!

I replaced all of the actuator motors several years ago. Maybe I did not put together right then. Will check

Got it fixed. A few years ago when I replaced the motors in the actuators, I did not get the “stem” that comes off the lock fitted back up into the actuator.
