    Meat grinder suggestion

    Anyone suggest a meat grinder that’s not going to break the bank but hold up well?

    We burned up the game winner from academy.

    We only grind up 5 to 10 deer a year between us so nothing major is needed.

    Probably any with steel gears. I have a Lem Big Bite #8.

      I saw this one while looking around on their site. It has metal gears.

        I have a LEM #12 Big Bite and it is a BEAST! No way I can keep up with it. When I bought it it came with a foot pedal promo free. I wouldn't do without the foot pedal because I can not keep up with it.

          5-10 deer is pretty significant...

          I'd look into LEM or Cabelas brand 1 HP or larger. Spend it once and be done.

          Cabelas and Bass Pro always have good sales this time of year...as well as just after Christmas when everybody has giftcards to spend.....

            Meat grinder suggestion

            While I would not buy this for myself I have been surprised by the durability of the cheapo $40 electric meat grinder my wife bought at Kohl’s. It’s got a hog, sika, and a whitetail through it and works much better than I expected. Good option for those that don’t have a whole lot to spend.

              This. Bought Cabela's 1 1/2 HP with 32 feed tube 5 yrs ago. Swallows big chunks of meat and cuts down on knife work.

                We have been using an LEM 1/4 horse for about 5 years or so and it's still going strong. No telling how much meat that thing has went through.Gona step it up to a LEM 1 horse after Christmas.

                  I have a Cabelas 1 hp,have been doing 10 to 15 deer plus many briskets and pork butts a year.I have had it awhile,7 or 8 years it performs flawlessly
                  and would buy it again in a heartbeat. The foot control is a must have.

                            I bought the LEM 1 horse in '02 or '03. I've lost count of the number of deer and hogs that thing has chewed up! I've heard good things about the Cabela's grinders, but have no experience with them. Like mentioned above, get the foot pedal on whatever you decide.
